Humans are fear filled creatures. We fear change, and we fear anything that may cause change. We fear the unknown. We fear ourselves. Our nature is to fight what we fear. We burn, we destroy, and we keep out ideals ours. We all fight, some just choose their battles better than others. We justify our fighting in the most interesting of ways. Some say it is to protect themselves, some to protect others, and some simply because they enjoy it. Some of us even take the lives of others. True evil is the power to kill people. Any man who finds himself with that power is cursed. No matter how you use it, anything obtained by killing people can never bring true happiness. It may only bring more killing, more anger, and more hate. Yet there are few people who question taking a life, however many question putting your life at risk to save another. There are those that risk their lives every day to save those of others, and each one is greeted with choruses of “Why would you do that?”s, and “Are you crazy?”. In other words, people have an unspoken rule that we should all look out for ourselves and not worry about others. My question is, do you need a reason? Do you need a reason to save someone’s life? People kill each other and I don’t understand why, but for saving a life, is a logical reason necessary? Possibly humans can exist without actually having to fight. But, many of us have chosen to fight. For what reason? To protect something? Protect what? Ourselves? The future? If we kill people to protect ourselves and this future then what sort of future is it and what will we have become? There is no future for those who have died. And what of those who did the killing? Is happiness to be found in a future that is grasped with blood stained hands?

There is no future for those who have died. And what of those who did the killing? Is happiness to
be found in a future that is grasped with blood stained hands? Is that the truth?.
